His first music teachers were two uncles who played in music bands at rural games. He graduated from the 4th High School in Białystok and Economic Studies in Bielsk Podlaski. He can sing in Romani, Belarusian (in childhood he won Belarusian song competitions) and Russian. He performed in the groups Akord and Centrum. At the end of 1989, together with Mariusz Anikiej, he founded the Akcent band. In the years 1991–1993, after Anikiej's departure to Belgium, he performed in Ex-Akcent together with Henryk Meller (former drummer of Czerwono-Czarni) and in the band Crazy Boys. He appeared as a guest in the band Select, and also recorded one album in a duet with Waldemar Oksztul.Īfter Anikiej's return to Poland, the band Akcent reactivated. Together they launched hits such as 'Star', 'Queen of the Night', 'Desire for Love', 'Through Your Green Eyes' and 'Perverse Fate'. The music video for "Through Your Eyes Green" was a success, becoming the second clip to the Polish song, which exceeded the threshold of 100 million views on YouTube. In 1994 he released a solo studio album entitled Flashback. On December 31, 2016, he sang on New Year's Eve with the Two in Zakopane. On Jhe performed in the concert "25 years of disco polo - jubilee gala". On December 12, he sang "Through Your Eyes Green" in an orchestral arrangement at the gala of the 25th anniversary of Polsat TV, and on December 31 he performed during New Year's Eve with the Two in Zakopane.
His performance was followed live by about 7.4 million viewers. On September 22, 2018, he performed during the "PGE National Dance" concert broadcast by TVP2, and on during the "I Believe in Love" concert as part of the Polsat SuperHit Festival. On December 26, the benefit of "Life is moments" was broadcast on TVP2 on the 30th anniversary of Martyniuk's artistic work, which was watched by about 4 million viewers. On December 31 he performed at New Year's Eve with the Two taking place again in Zakopane.
